Overview When mounting crossbars, horizontal backdrop poles, or side-oriented grip gear to standard light stands, mounting a Super Clamp directly to the vertical top pin can restrict positioning. This model provides a 90-degree horizontal 5/8" (16mm) baby pin stud from any standard light stand vertical spigot. It features: Standard 5/8" (16mm) receiver socket with a safety set-screw lock. Standard 5/8" (16mm) male stud with a relief safety groove to lock securely into Super Clamps or grip heads. Robust M12 x 3.0mm coarse threads built directly into the body for smooth, high-strength tightening without stripping. A matching ergonomic, fluted thumbscrew knob designed to print flat without supports. Print Settings Orientation: Adapter Body: Print upright on the flat bottom face of the receiver tube. Clamping Knob: Print flat on the thumb grip face (threads pointing straight up). Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS recommended for creep resistance under screw tension (PLA works for light loads). Walls / Perimeters: 5–6 perimeters (ensures the threads and pin are nearly solid). Infill: 40% – 50% (Gyroid or Grid recommended). Layer Height: 0.16mm – 0.20mm (allows coarse threads to seat cleanly). Supports: Tree/Organic supports recommended only under the horizontal pin overhang. Post-Processing & Assembly Clean any support material from under the horizontal pin. Run the printed knob into the threaded side port a couple of times before final mounting to smooth out the layer lines. Slide the adapter over the light stand's top pin, tighten the knob firmly, and mount your Super Clamp to the horizontal stud.
