À propos de ce modèle
Thumbster Tokens are fun, colourful reward tokens I have designed to encourage kids and make everyday achievements a little more rewarding. The tokens can be used as part of a simple reward system for completing chores, showing good behaviour, reaching goals, helping around the house, or simply earning recognition for a job well done (see practical Tip at bottom). Colour = Value The different colours represent different token values. This gives the reward system a little more flexibility, while also making the tokens visually appealing to kids. The higher-value 10 and 20 Thumbster Tokens feature an additional mix of colours to make them stand out from the lower denominations. The idea is to make the higher-value tokens more desirable and encourage kids to strive towards earning them. Higher-value tokens can also be exchanged for multiple lower-value tokens, allowing you to create your own reward system and decide exactly what each denomination is worth. Let the kids gets excited to swap-out, a 20-token could be exchanged for two 10-tokens, four 5-tokens, or any combination that adds up to the same value (of course). Printing Tips My original tokens were printed using a 0.4 mm nozzle with PLA for the model and PETG for the supports. Using PETG supports helps provide a smooth finish on the supported surfaces. It's possible if your bridging is well calibrated that you won't need supports albeit the lower side will be a little rougher than the top side. 0.4 mm nozzle recommended. 0.2 mm layer height works well and produces a good-quality print but.... 0.15 mm layer height is recommended if you want the details and colours to appear more vivid. The photographed models were printed using PLA for the token and PETG for the supports . Multi-material printing is recommended for the best finish where supports are required. Experiment with different filament colours to create your own denominations and reward system. Print a selection of denominations in different colours and build your own Thumbster Token reward system around whatever works best for your family. Files I have single model project files and 40x combo project/model files included for your convenience. Tip: When out and about, and you want to indicate to the kids to perhaps curve their behaviour or praise them (as we should do more of), you can use you own real thumb, and show them which way it's heading! A wrist rotating with a thumb going down will remove a Thumbster Token from the stash if you lock in pointing downwards or rotating your wrist and moving your thumb upwards means they have just earned a additional Thumbster Token for a good well done. All this without saying a thing if needs be :) Every parents dream! :D Enjoy.
