About this model
i've modelled something similar to nasa's crawler transporter- making a ship to move rockets from place a to place b. the number of prints of each model needed is in the file name. for reference- 1 of part 1 8 of part 2 4 of part 3 2 of part 4 4 of part 4 why? i made this for many reasons- for fun, to explore how the crawler transporter worked to learn about gears and how they can be modelled to submit to atlantis (atlantis.hackclub.com :yay) build instructions- 1. keep all the gears in place as shown in the below image attach the motor to the main gear (shown below) (the yellow selected gear is the main gear) place the wheel-gears in the slots for them (all wheels are indistinguishable) place anything on the tray, move it around with the motor, and enjoy! how it works- this is a very small albeit working model of the same. the system can use either a dual dc or dual ac motor to power 2 main gears which drive 2 other, bigger gears. each of the bigger gears branch down into gears which connected to the wheels driving the ship (kind-of like a human pyramid- 1 gear branches into 2 and each of the two gears break up into 2 more who connect to the wheels. made in onshape.
