🐝 BEEHIVE PATTY & FEED BLOCK RISER – SMALL HIVE BEETLE DEFENSE Small hive beetles love the dark, protected gap under a pollen patty or feed block that sits flat on the top bars. Bees can't get in there to chase them out, so beetles hide, lay eggs, and the patty can turn into a slimy mess. This riser fixes that. It holds the patty or feed block about 11.5 mm (just under 1/2") above the frames on an open grid, so: ✔ Bees can walk all the way under the patty and patrol it ✔ Beetles lose their hiding spot and get chased out ✔ Bees can still reach the feed from below and through the grid ✔ The patty stays off the top bars, so cleanup is easy ✔ Built-in half-moon tabs on each side let you lift it out without digging into the patty 📏 DIMENSIONS - Grid footprint: 181 × 100 mm (7.1" × 3.9") - With lift tabs: 181 × 120 mm (7.1" × 4.7") - Total height: 14 mm (0.55") - Lift above top bars: about 11.5 mm - 12 support feet around the edge Fits standard pollen patties, sugar/fondant blocks, and protein feed blocks. PLA works, but it can soften in a hot hive in summer. - Filament: about 20 g 🔧 HOW TO USE 1. Flip the riser so the feet point down. 2. Set it on the top bars over the cluster. 3. Put the patty or feed block on the grid (leave the wax paper on it or take it off, whichever you prefer). 4. Add a shim or eke if needed and close up the hive. 5. Use the side tabs to lift it out when you swap patties. 💡 TIPS - Put it right over the cluster so bees take the feed fast.
